Navi Mumbai Tamil Sangam organized a Poetry Recitation Competition for Tamil School Students. Students participated enthusiastically in a huge number for the event, reports Reshma Dharsee. A poetry recitation competition was organized for students of tamil schools by the Navi Mumbai Tamil Sangam in Vashi. The main objective behind this programme was to promote Tamil culture. There were more than 1000 students participants accompanied by their parent or teacher from all over Mumbai. It created a blissful environment with young students sitting before the stage waiting for their turn to recite the poetry. All the committee members present were motivating the students. We spoke to NMMC former Education Committee Chairman and Tamil Sangam Committee Member Ravi Iyer to tell us more about the event. The students were seen enjoying to their fullest despite it being a competition. We also spoke to Calcutta Tamil Sangam Ex-President D.Gnanasekaran – the Guest of Honor for the event. He appreciated the initiative put up by Navi Mumbai Tamil Sangam. Like every year, even this year the event turned out to be a huge success.
