TANISHKA SHETTY – SPRINTER STRIKES DOUBLE GOLD AT STATE LEVEL

Tanishka Shetty, a class four student of State Bank Officers’ Association School, of Nerul, has managed a gold medal in long jump at district meet, thus clearing a distance of 3.53 metre. She concentrated on the long jump, leaving behind other sprint events, in an attempt to grab the gold medal, which stunned the selectors. She is small, but her achievements are big. It all began for Tanishka shetty when she was 7 years old when she used to play running races with her friends and was the fastest of them all. Her father noticed the athlete in her and made her participate in a race where she stood 3rd. After that there was no looking back. Tanishka Shetty, a class four student of State Bank Officers’ Association School, of Nerul managed a gold medal in long jump at district meet, thus clearing a distance of 3.53 metre. She concentrated on the long jump, leaving behind other sprint events, in an attempt to grab the gold medal, which stunned the selectors. While nervousness crept in during the competition, practice made her confident. She added that she has a training schedule where she first does warm up exercises and running for 2.5 hours and also participates in other sports with the guidance of her coaches. Her father is very particular about her diet and makes sure that she follows it and avoids junk food. We spoke with her father who appreciated the support of the school and coaches.
