tbia-2Thane-Belapur Industries Association had arranged a seminar at Vashi. The main issue of the discussion was the much raging energy efficiency. The Thane Belapur Industrial Association had organized a Seminar at Vashi in order to explore the possibilities of development in energy efficiency. The invitees who were experienced and excelled in their field of work tabled ideas; which are the need of the hour, to conserve energy in developing economy like India. Issues ranged from efficient utilization of energy, effective unloading, storage and handling of fuel, and many more. The key attraction of the event was the interaction with the Director and Assistant director of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA). This association has been doing research on energy efficiency since 1978 and has propounded some of the ground breaking ideas in saving energy. The seminar was attended by the senior officials of Industries dealing with energy. The Joint Secretary of the TBIA explained the purpose behind the seminar. He also added that to sustain in competition, industries have to conserve energy. The Chairman of the MSEDCL Committee spoke on the right calculated statistical benefit of energy consumption. It’s a well acknowledged fact that the phenomenon of global warming had warmed up the table of Copenhegan Summit recently. When asked to the Assistant Director of PCRA that whether the stand of India in summit was right, he voiced the concern that while we have the right to develop, there is a need to balance the energy conservation as well.
