TERRORIST FUNDS IN BSE AND REAL ESTATE – CONFIRMS RAKESH MARIA JOINT POLICE COMMISSIONER, CRIME BRANCH

rakesh-mariya-2Intelligence reports say crores of terrorist funds are pumped into BSE through illegal phone exchanges run by stock brokers in guise of STD booth operators. Speaking to Archana Tripathi, Jt. CP Crime Rakesh Maria confirmed that terrorist funds have been pumped both into BSE and real estate and they are now keeping close vigil. To unearth the underworld and terrorism fund at the Bombay Stock Exchange, the Mumbai Crime Branch is now keeping a close vigil on illegal telephone exchanges operated by stock brokers. Sources in the crime branch recently received an intelligence report that broker-run telephone exchanges were involved in laundering money from abroad. The same money is then invested into the stock market. Speaking to NMTV News, Jt. CP Crime Rakesh Maria said that they are keeping a tab on them. Crime branch officials believe that at least 25 big brokering firms are involved in the scam and crores of rupees are being pumped into the BSE through them. Not just the BSE, but Crores have terrorist funds have also been pumped into the real estate. While investigating serial bomb-blasts cases, police intercepted Hawala transactions and discovered lakhs of rupees were being diverted from agencies abroad to Indian banks. Hence anti-social elements now use these illegal phone exchanges to avoid suspicion or divert their unaccounted wealth in the unorganized real estate sector. From Mumbai, with cameraperson Ravi Nikam, Archana Tripathi for NMTV News.
