The families of the injured and the dead victims of railway accidents protested against the government for not yet receiving the said compensation promised years ago. The life line of Mumbai, the local trains are also the place where the maximum death takes place. The rising population and the limited number of trains is said as the main reason for this. While the state has promised compensation for the dead’s family or the injured, ther is much delay in this. The victims of such accident went to meet Western Railway General Manager at Churchgate Station to inform him of their demands of paying the promised compensation by the government. The number of such victims may be in thousands. The matter of such cases has remained pending since years between Railway’s Tribunal and Insurance Companies.
