It’s been sleepless nights for TMT workers, officers and members after BEST received the green signal to ply through Thane. For the last 19 years, immense corruption and irresponsibility was seen from them and now when BEST has extended its services in the region, TMT workers have suddenly woken up and taken to streets against their management. Frustrated residents demand against TMT’s dire and irregular bus service was raised by Deputy Chairperson of State Assembly, Vasant Daukhare. Following this, the State Transport department gave its green signal for BEST buses to ply through Thane. As per the approval, 20 BEST buses were permitted to travel till Thane. With BEST in the league now, it has become a challenge for TMT to provide better services to its commuters. With the days getting closer, there is uncertainty amongst TMT workers who have taken to streets and exposed the poor management of TMT. The agitated workers resorted to violence and gheraoed TMT’s Deputy General Manager Kamlakar Dixit, smashing his car. With no political leader standing up against the corruption seen in the TMT department, finally the Best bus services had to be introduced in Thane. And while this is boon for the commuters, it has hit hard on the TMT workers. With cameraperson Ravi Nikam, Monika Bhosale for NMTV News.
