NMMC has decided to revamp its public toilets at Ramnagar and Chinchpada. With the population of the ares, these toilets were not just inadequate but were also reeling under pathetic conditions. The public toilet situated near the Borola well at Ramnagar in Airoli had become more of a concern for the locals. But residents can now breathe a sign of relief as NMMC has decided to revamp this toilet. Ramnagar comprises of a population of around 3500 and these two seater toilets were quite inadequate especially for women. There are also five toilets in ganpatipada of this ward which are facing the same fate. While locals expressed their problem with us, they did welcome NMMC’s idea of revamping the toilets. It’s not just the public toilets of this node but the toilets of two other nodes of Airoli are going to be revamped, proposal of which has been approved. The redevelopment would be seen in Ganpatipada, Ramnagar, Borola pond and Savitri Nagar. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1049640.
