Where on one side NCP leaders campaigned for Sanjeev Naik in Navi Mumbai, on the other hand, Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray wooed voters in Thane. The intensity of the Thane lok Sabha by polls was felt when top leaders of both NCP and Shiv Sena came on the roads to campaign for their candidates. The campaigning for NCP candidate Sanjeev Naik saw top NCP leaders in Koperkhairane of both the NCP and Congress party. Looking at the numbers of Ministers present one could understand the seriousness of NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar towards this election. Calling Sanjeev Naik an Agri leader, Navi Mumbai Congress President Namdeo Bhagat appealed to the Agri community to vote for him. The same reiterated by PWD Minister Chaggan Bhujbal. The rally saw intense campaigning by Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil who criticized the Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackarey. According to him, the election believed in secularism uniting people of all caste and creed. He further criticized Sena’ Wada Pav plans. Giving examples of corruption within the BJP party, R R Patil also targeted the BJP party in his speech. At the same time he appealed to all voters to come forward and vote for Sanjeev naik. Even the other Ministers present praised the working of Sanjeev Naik and said that they were confident that the victory would be his. Even the Deputy Chief Minister was confident of Sanjeev Naik’s victory. On the issue of inflation and power cuts, he stated that the government was striving for a solution for the same. Well, looking at the coming together of leaders of both the Congress and NCP Party, the stronghold of Sanjeev Naik as a candidate for the Thane Lok Sabha by polls has definitely been strenghtned.
