The Navi Mumbai Traffic police were on a different hunt of booking vehicles having Marathi number plates. According to the Central Motor Vehicle Act of 1989, the DG of Maharashtra has sent a circular to all traffic police dept. of the state to take action against all vehicles that have Marathi number plates. In the course, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police got into action and booked vehicles with marathi number plates at Vashi Highway. According to the rule, all vehicles must have number plates only in English language and the figures should be Arabic numerals. However, now vehicles are making fancy number plates with marathi font, which makes it difficult for the police to take action. He added that this action that their drive will begin from March 17 and will go on till March 31, On the 1st the traffic police will send their report to the DG.
