himan1The Yuva centre at Kharghar is organizing a film festival based on Human Rights. Yuva is a developmental organization working on issues of poverty, environment and governance in rural, urban and tribal areas of Maharashtra, Gujrat and Madhya Pradesh. On the occasion of 60th anniversary of Universal declaration of Human Rights, a Film festival is being organized by Yuva Centre, Kharghar which aims at providing education and knowledge about basic human rights. Thus the centre has decided to propel the knowledge to common mass through a film festival where different films will be displayed on various topics relating to human rights. The films that will be shown in the next few days would be on social issues like employment, effects of urbanisation, gender bias etc. A documentary was shown on the first day of the festival relating to employment in call centres, in which a different world of call centre employees was shown. Many people work in call centres just because they get well paid even if their aspirations are different. Choosing a right career is the basic human right, which was the message of the movie. Similarly, films based on other social issues will be screened in the next 5 days. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Vrushali Chitre for NMTV news.
