UAE flights disrupted by explosions at Brussels airport

Flights operated by Emirates and Etihad Airways between the UAE and the Belgian capital have been affected by today’s explosions at Brussels airport.
Emirates said flight EK183 from Dubai to Brussels would be diverted to Düsseldorf because of the closure of Brussels Zaventem Airport.
“We are looking at alternative arrangements in Düsseldorf to get our passengers to their final destinations,” a spokesman said.
Return flight EK184, scheduled to depart later today from Brussels to Dubai has been cancelled, the spokesman said.
Airline officials were contacting affected passengers for rebooking.
“We are monitoring the situation in Brussels closely,” the spokesman said.
“The safety of our passengers, crew and staff is always our top priority and will not be compromised.”
After the explosions, Brussels Airport announced on Twitter that all operations have been suspended until further notice.
Flights and train services in and out of Brussels were canceled and security precautions were stepped up at travel hubs around Europe after bombings in the Belgian capital’s airport and subway system.
