To protest the acute shortage of water and power crisis that plagues Thane District, the Sena took out a massive under the leadership of Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray. Off late there has been a cut in the water supply to Thane besides load shedding that plagues the city. Thane residents are highly disappointed with the failure of the state government and TMC to provide them with basic essentialities. To protest this, the Sena took out a morcha under the leadership of Executive President Uddhav Thackeray. The highlight of the morcha was the breaking of matkas by the protestors to symbolize the dead government. Ironically the Sena enjoys the power of the opposition at the state and reigns at the Thane Municipal Corporation. Thane is considered to be a Sena stronghold. Looks like the Sena woke up after a three year slumber compelling many to believe that the approaching state elections are one reason for this. However, Thane residents are hopeful that the morcha will bring about some solution to the power crisis and water shortage in their city, which is a definite wait and watch.
