Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar’s statements are once again making headlines. The NCP Supremo has said that he was being targeted over inflation and expressed dismay not only at his cabinet colleagues and the Congress leadership but also his own Minister Jayant Patil and R R Patil for fighting with each other. Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has said that the country has been fighting inflation since 1952, and every Finance Minister has faced the crisis. But, for last three years, the Agriculture Minister is being held accountable for it. He was addressing a meeting of the extended working committee members at Nariman Point. Besides attacking the Center, Sharad Pawar also took his own party Minister Jayant Patil and R R Patil to task. He said that party leaders should sort out their own issues and not make the central leadership intervene. The duo has been squabbling over politics in their hometown, Sangli, for the last few months. Commenting on the proposed Navi Mumbai airport, he said that the lack of connectivity may impede the state’s progress. He went on to accuse Leader of Opposition Eknath Khadse of using his constitutional position to collude with builders and even criticized Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray saying that instead of issuing orders to workers, they should fight elections. He also blamed the saffron alliance for indulging in issues with intent of blackmailing. Bureau report – NMTV News.
