different-node-kopar-9VOTING DAY – VASHI The main polling centers at Vashi included Navi Mumbai High School, Sainath School, Modern College, St. Lawrence School and Avalon Heights School among others. The four day holiday seemed to have had an impact on the turn out in this node as was being feared as holiday mood took over will to vote. Senior corporators of the node ensured that they were seen sweating it out in the heat guiding voters and exchanging pleasantries with them. VOTING DAY – NERUL In Nerul, the voting day started slowly with some corporators seen in their wards ensuring voting for their candidate. At Sector 9, Congress Corporator Santosh Shetty cast his vote and was seen actively getting voters out of their homes to cast their vote. Speaking to NMTV News, Santosh Shetty spoke about the need to vote. On the other hand, we also caught Navi Mumbai Congress Chief and CIDCO Director Namdeo Bhagat casting his vote at Nerul village. As compared to the voters turn out in city side, their seemed to be comparatively more enthusiasm among citizens in villages to exercise their right to vote. NMTV News spoke to Namdeo Bhagat after he cast his vote. VOTING DAY – CBD BELAPUR The voting turn out at CBD Belapur too was not any different as the day started off on a low pace here too. In the important wards, one could see NCP and Shiv Sena party workers both in action. VOTING DAY – AIROLI Perhaps the most vulnerable areas, one had expected to hear some untoward news from Airoli and they did. On a minor issue, a faction of NCP and Shiv Sena had a face off with NCP boys allegedly breaking the window panes of a vehicle taking Shiv Sainiks to a polling booth. The ACP on duty in the area spoke to the media and said that the situation was brought under control. Till late evening huge police bandobast was stationed at this sector. Besides this, the voting day was pretty normal in Airoli as much as it was in other nodes. The turn out too was no different. Party workers of different parties exuberated confidence of a victory of their candidate. VOTING DAY – KOPERKHAIRANE Voting day at Koperkhairane too was as dried out as any other node. Voters trickled at polling booths throughout the day to the complete disappointment of democracy. Bureau report – NMTV News.
