The state assembly session saw the legislators demanding a fast-track court for women. The demand was raised by MLA Neelam Gorhe. The demand for taking immediate measures to tackle domestic violence on women by the state government is increasing by the day. Infact the state assembly session also saw some women legislators taking up this issue and demanding a fast-track court for women. The same was informed by MLA Neelam Gorhe to the media. She also spoke on the security for Nepalis entering the country and also raised concern on their legality and said that a Consulate of Nepal should also be set up. Further speaking on security, she said that she had demanded an ATS centre in Pune like that in Mumbai and Delhi but that too was nt looked into by the government. EKNATH SHINDE GETS THREATENING SMS After Opposition Leader Eknath Khadse received a threatening SMS, Thane MLA Eknath Shinde also received a SMS threatening to kill him. Receiving SMS on cell phones has become a frequent topic at the state assembly session. Three days back, Opposition Leader Eknath Khadse received a threatening SMS of blowing up Mumbai. while investigation for this was on, another threatening SMS was received by Thane MLA Eknath Shinde. The SMS that threatens to kill Shinde within 36 hours was raised in the assembly where Eknath Shinde complained about the same to Home Minister R R Patil, calling it a failure of security by the state. JAIL BHARO AGITATION BY MLAS ON VIDARBHA MLAs in the state assembly as well outside the Vidhan Bhavan premises held a jail bharo agitation in support of their demand for a separate state of Vidharbha. Amid protests in Mumbai, the demand for Vidarbha State found an echo in the State legislature with noisy arguments and a walk-out. The Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been spearheading the demand, wanted a discussion on the issue in both the Assembly and the Council and it was not permitted. The BJP members walked out in protest in the Assembly after Speaker Dilip Walse Patil refused to allow a notice of adjournment on the issue. Members of the Congress and BJP along with other political groups staged a jail bharo agitation in support of their demand in which 25 people were arrested.
