The MCGM’s general body meeting witnessed pandemonium over a poster of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj slaying Adilshahi warrior Afzal Khan that also shows 26/11 martyrs Hemant Karkare, Vijay Salaskar, Ashok Kamte and Tukaram Ombale. Though Shiv Sena activists have created the poster ahead of November 24, the 350th anniversary of the slaying of Afzal Khan, acting MCGM commissioner R A Rajeev said that the civic body will permit them only after receiving a no-objection certificate from the police. In the MCGM General Body meeting, Shiv Sena corporator and House leader Sunil Prabhu initiated a debate that the MCGM, an autonomous body, should not succumb to police pressure while granting permission for posters. Another Sena corporator, Rajula Patel, said that no one can stop the posters. NCP corporator Vidha Chauhan said that Shiv Sena was trying to create anarchy in Mumbai, instead of focusing on developmental issues. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Hansraj Kanojia for NMTV news.
