US President Barack Obama inspects Irene-hit New Jersey

New Jersey : United States President Barack Obama spent Sunday inspecting Tropical Storm Irene hit New Jersey. The President landed at the Newark Liberty International Airport and went to around New Jersey.

The President also walked on foot in several worst hit areas where household and commercial appliances were strewn in water outside in the streets and lanes.

During his interaction with the residents of the flood hit areas, the President in true Obama style assured them that, “Just want to let you know we’re going to be here.”

One of the fears of residents is whether aid would reach them at a time when the US treasury is reeling under deep financial crisis. However the President laid to rest the fears as he assured that all aid to help people recover from the storm would reach them on time.
