A huge flock of not just devotes but even celebrities visited the GSB Devotees had flooded the GSB Seva Sadan Mandal to get a glimpse of the costliest Ganesh idol in the city. Long queues at the GSB Seva Sadan Mandal is a very common site as this mandals houses the costliest Ganesh idol. The ganpati mandal at King Circle in Wadala is said to have adorned with more than 60 kgs of gold and 250 kgs of silver and is undoubtedly the costliest Ganesha in Mumbai. It is also among the tallest Ganapati idols in Mumbai. The crown of the Matunga Ganesha is made out of 22 kilograms of gold. Gold adorns the ears, feet, hands and trunk of the idol. Apart from this there are gold flowers, embroidery, necklace, a cobra and throne with lions on either side. From dawn till evening various pujas are performed for the deity. Recently MNS Chief Raj Thakcrey along with his wife Sharmila Thackrey was seen seeking blessings at the mandal.
