The beautiful natural belt of Mumbra Kosa, the waterfalls has now been reduced to nothing due quarrying activities. With beauty and charm lost, the hills have now become flooding and accidental zones. The areas of Mumbra Kausa have a population of more than eight lacs, was once surrounded by the picturesque beautiful hills. Any visitor a few decades ago would appreciate the natural beauty and greenery of the hills. The flowing waterfalls added to its charm but today the beauty of the hills has been raped by vested interests. Quarrying activities have scarred the beauty of the hills at Mumbra Kausa. These activities are on 24 hours a day with accumulated debris at the foothills. Not surprisingly monsoons come with a bundle of problems with reports of landslides at the Mumbra- Kausa bypass, threatening the settlements along its periphery. BYTE PUBLIC When we look at such cases of environment massacre, its is a mockery of the claims of the state working to arrest global warming and conserving environment.
