WHILE MUMBAI THRISTS FOR WATER, PRECIOUS WATER GOES DOWN THE DRAIN IN NAVI MUMBAI

water-wastage-While the entire city is suffering under water crisis, gallons of water is simply being wasted away at sector 19 Vashi. A water pipeline in this area has burst leading to precious water going down the drain. The water accumulation that you see in these visuals is not because it has rained heavily but because an underground water pipeline at sector 19 Vashi has burst open. Locals in the node informed that the breakage in the pipeline occurred three days ago and despite complaining about the same to NMMC, no official or contractor had come to visit the site and rectify the issue. Where on one side there are still many nodes in the city, which are reeling under extreme water shortage, for the last three days gallons of precious water are flowing simply away. NMMC officials and representatives who are unperturbed by this wastage of water should go to areas where people are forced to use gutter water for their livelihood to make them realize that wastage of this basic necessity of life is unacceptable.
