With Code Of Conduct In Effect, Election Commission May Rule On 2.5 FSI

The much awaited approval of 2.5 FSI for CIDCO dilapidated buildings in Navi Mumbai finally got the approval from the State Chief Minister. However, the approval cannot move forward as the proposal still awaits notification. With the code of conduct into effect and the FSI guidelines not notified, the Urban Development Department will have to seek special approval from the Election Commission so that proposal can come into force.

A coordinator is generally appointed by the state, who looks into the proposals that need to be approved by the Election Commission. Matters, which are urgent in nature, are usually passed on to the Election Commission for approval. Bureau report – NMTV
