With court hearing in April, Metro fare hike to continue

The Bombay High Court has scheduled the heating of the stay on the Mumbai Metro fare hike till April 12, which means that the same fares will continue for a while now.

Several petitions were filed including by Mumbai Metropolitan Area Development Authority. Th petitions challenge the fare hike and the report of the Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) as well as a proposal by Reliance-Infra-run Mumbai Metro One Private Limited.

Reliance-Infra-run Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd had proposed to raise the fares by Rs 5 to Rs 10, 20, 25, 35 and 45 for single journeys and return fares of Rs 10, 20, 22.50, 30 and 35.
