YOUNG TALENTS OF BHARATNATYAM ENTHRALL AUDIENCE AT VISHNUDAS BHAVE

matyamYoung girls of the navarass academy of Indian classical dance, Nerul performed their Bharatnatyam Arengretram which they been practicing for the last six years. The girls entertained the audience at Vishnudas Bhave auditorium with this form of classical dance. Bharatanatyam has been practised for thousands of years. The art is said to have directly evolved from Lord Shiva known as Lord Nataraja which means the King of Dance. One of the rich classical form of dance of India was seen at Vishnudas Bhave auditorium where young dancers of the navarass academy of Indian classical dance, Nerul presented their six years of rigorous training and practice of Bharatnatyam Arengretram. We caught up with the girls before the event who shared their feelings with us. The trainer and the guru for these girls Sushma Gopinath spoke in the day’s event. While todays generation might know a lot of rock music, there would be very few who would now the history behind classical dances and different forms of Bharatnatyam, something that this academy has tried to stress on and keep the youth enriched with the country’s rich heritage.
