Working towards the welfare of handicaps, the Youth Committee of Chembur has been providing employment opportunities to the deaf and deaf blind. The youth committee, Chembur had been established in 1953 to provide training to deaf and deaf-blind people for employment. More than 200 special children come here for training. Using the latest hearing and visual aids, they are taught every sought of work so that they can stand up on their own. A fine example of dedication and will power of these students can be seen in Kumar Sikander who has won a medal in Olympics.
