A zonal workshop on gender sensitization was held in ICLES Motilal Jhunjhunwala College Vashi in association with Women Development Cell, University of Mumbai. The growing incidents of physical and mental abuse on women has led the Vice -Chancellor , Dr Vijay Khole to inform all colleges to form a college level women development cell (CWDC).The primary objective of this cell and the workshops it will conduct is to develop greater sensitivity towards gender equality and understand the CWDC for its conveners and members. ACP Purshottam Karad joined the workshop. Addressing the audience he said that women must come forward and file complaints with the police so that necessary action can be taken against the culprits. Speaking to the media, the Dean Faculty of Arts University of Mumbai said that there are laws for women and they need to be used for their benefit she also emphasized on the maternity leave which needs to be extended to teachers. Speaking to the media the Principal of ICLES Motilal Jhunjhunwala College said that the workshop is for the benefit of women and they must come forward support the cell.
